50 Goals Vision Module / Purpose Domain
Date Instructions In this exercise, you will be setting goals comprehensively for the 8 domains of your life. This exercise will take about 30 to 60 minutes. The 8 domains of your life are: career, financial, family, social, intellectual, spiritual, physical (health), and leisure. Take 3 to 5 minutes per domain and brainstorm as many goals for that domain as you can. Write those goals down in the spaces on pages 2, 3 ,4, and 5 according to the domain. Here are some example goals: Physical (Health) – Run a marathon Financial – Spend less than $1000 / month on food Career – publish a paper on health policy topic In total you should have greater than 50 goals total among the 8 domains. Next for each goal, categorize it as a 1-year, 3-year, 5-year, or 10-year goal. Review all of your 1-year goals across the 8 domains. Pick 3 to 5 of the 1-year goals which are the most important. Write them on the top box on page 6. These are your priorities for the current year! In the “significance” portion on page 6, reflect on why these goals are important to you. Write down your reflection. Review the most important 5 or 10-year goals. In the “the person you will be” portion on page 6, reflect on what kind of person you must become in order to fulfill your top 5 or 10- year goals. Write down your reflection. It is a good idea to revisit and edit this document a on regular basis. 1
