Connecting the selection you are reading to yourself (experiences, beliefs, ideas, etc)
Connections are made about you and how you relate in anyway to the selection

5. Text to World
Connecting the selection you are reading to something happening in the world or something that happened in the world
Historic/World events and facts are a good way to connect text to world
