Prepositions 1. A preposition is a word that describes or indicates the location or direction of objects in a sentence. There are several kinds of prepositions: Prepositions of time Prepositions of place Prepositions of movement

Prepositions 2. Object of the Preposition - the noun or pronoun that ends a prepositional phrase Example: The baseball player in the white shirt hit a homerun.

Prepositional phrases - always begin with a preposition and end with the object of the preposition Find preposition + ask what = prepositional phrase Yellow=Preposition Black=Object of the preposition Whole thing=prepositional phrase EXAMPLES: The plane will arrive at 3 p.m on January 15. I like to go for a run in the morning. Our project is due on Wednesday. The cat walked across the ledge toward the mouse. A fish swam under the coral near the shore. The person in the red shirt drove to the store.
