Primary Source: A primary source is firsthand information about people or events.

What are examples of a Primary Source?
Primary Sources: Documents, eyewitness accounts, letters, diaries, speeches, autobiographies, photographs Artifacts, which include: Tools and weapons Religious objects Statues, paintings Ruins

Secondary Sources: These sources are created by someone who did not actually witness the events.

Think like an archaeologist!
Imagine that you are not from Earth and 500 years from now, you land and find these items: Ask yourself what these items say about the society from which they came. What would be your guess for what they were used for?
