4 Drug industry influence
Senate Sponsors of Pediatric Patent Extension Legislation, Chistopher Dodd (D-Conn.) and Mike DeWine (R-Ohio) rank 3rd and 7th in total contributions from the industry since Dodd has received $165,698 and DeWine has received $132,800. Members of the House subcommittee who voted against reining in giveaway to brand name industry receive more than twice as much in campaign contributions from the industry as those who voted for reining in the giveaway, $65,000 vs. $25,000 on average since 1990.
