Now we’ve recapped Chapter 1 and 2, it’s time to move on and find out about David and Tucky’s new life in Exeter, Devon. Read Chapter 3

Activity: Hot-seating. Very shortly, we are going to put some of you on the spot. You will need to become David and really feel how we might do if we were in his shoes. However, we first need to come up with a wide range of questions that we could ask him.

Main Task: Choose 4 of the key events from last lesson (the booklet) and 2 new key events from Chapter 3 so far. In books: for each key event, explain how David is feeling. Why does he feel that way? What might have caused him to feel that way? Is there anything Morpurgo doesn’t tell us but we can imagine if we were David.
