The Plight of Jewish Refugees Many Jews left Germany Other countries stopped admitting Jews “We all want to get rid of our Jews. The difficulty is that no country wishes to receive them.” Germany’s foreign minister 60,000 Jews came to the U.S. U.S. reluctant to accept Jews-Great Depression, anti-Sematism, “enemy agents”

Extermination The killings were not happening fast enough New concentration camps equipped with gas chambers in late 1941 Those condemned led to a shower of cyanide gas Mass graves left evidence, Nazis then used crematoriums Some camps conducted experiments on Jews some only drank seawater injected with diseases sterilization experiments
