TECHNICAL FABRICS Fabrics that are made to fulfil a specific purpose. E.g. To improve waterproofing, strength, lightness, breathability.

6 Kevlar Improves strength. Synthetic fabric – made of plastic.
Technical Fabric 1 Kevlar Improves strength. Synthetic fabric – made of plastic. 5x stronger than steel. Used for protective clothing. Flame/chemical resistant.

7 Smart-Shape Memory Alloy
Technical Fabric 3 Smart-Shape Memory Alloy Smart-shape-memory alloy returns to its original shape when heated. Smart memory fibres are woven with nylon to make smart-memory shirts that don't need ironing.

8 Memory Foam Technical Fabric 3
Memory foam moulds to the user's shape and can return to its original state. It was originally developed for NASA astronauts and is now used in memory-foam mattresses and seats.
