Purpose of Narrative Builder Our clients have often asked if we could add or edit forms just for their practice. The Narrative Builder allows the user to edit/create/customize narratives to better suit the individual practice needs. The addition of Narrative Builder makes ONCOCHART more customizable.

Editing a Narrative We will show you three common instances where you can edit a narrative. First, well show you how to make a question required. Next, well demonstrate how to change narrative text. Finally, were going to show you how to import an existing segment (topic) of a narrative into another one.

Editing a Narrative: Choose One… Those that are Simple… To Those that are Complex…

19
Import an Existing Topic, Summary It captures everything from the point of import
20
Import an Existing Topic: Editing If you decide to Edit anything (for example, a group) after importing a segment of a narrative, you will get the following dialogue box. It will ask if you want to change the group in all other narratives upon which it is integrated: Or change only the group in the narrative at hand. Choose wisely… If you decide to Edit anything (for example, a group) after importing a segment of a narrative, you will get the following dialogue box. Deleting or Hiding a segment of a Narrative You can only delete an entire narrative or a part of a narrative that is user created AND has not been used in a saved narrative before. For the protection of all using the same narratives, you are not allowed to delete an ONCOCHART - created Narrative. However, you can hide a narrative or portion thereof. The next few slides will demonstrate how to delete a topic created by a user. We will also show you how to hide a topic.

Recommendations & Cautions Use caution when editing or deleting Questions or Answers. Check to make sure they are not involved with scoring or MU. Use strong naming rules. Be consistent. Be specific – My Tx Plan doesnt cut it. Only edit your own. Co-workers narratives should be off limits. Appoint a Narrative Archivist. They have control over all narratives. Do not attempt to work with narratives until you know what youre doing. Not for the faint of heart or tinkerers. Always work from left-to-right. Maintain the narrative hierarchy – any other method invites disaster.
43
Thats a Wrap! ONCOCHART ® has many existing narratives. Narrative Builder is fully customizable. Be very careful when editing a narrative when many at your center are accessing it. This is an overview of Narrative Builder. If you need individualized training, please contact our support team.
