1 Teacher's Handy Manual to the Ambassador's Program
Rippon's Anti-Bullying Program Resetting the partnership with our teachers. “Building a Bridge and not an Obstacle.”

2 The 5 W's: Who, What, Where, When and Why
Who created this program? The Ambassador's program was created last school year. It's birth took place when the principal at the time, asked Aida to take over the anti-bullying program. After researching and looking for something innovative to adapt to the school, a student led program sprouted and the Ambassador's for Change came to be. What is the purpose of the program? The purpose is to combat bullying by using peer to peer interaction and role modeling. We wanted to develop a sense of responsibility, and to challenge the students of Rippon to be more compassionate and develop leadership skills. What better way to embrace and enhance a program—to develop leaders among the students.?

3 Where?? Where should the Ambassador’s program be implemented?
That's easy-- the Ambassador's program is a one of a kind anti- bullying program here at Rippon. By using the remediation time, and training during the encore slots, it is our hope that you (the teacher) will get to know your Ambassador and work with him/her every month. Meeting with students by grade level vs. big groups: Pros/Cons We thought that it would be best to meet with the students by grade level, so that we could have more intimate time with them and really cater to their questions and needs.

4 When should you as the teacher work w/ your Ambassador
When should you as the teacher work w/ your Ambassador? Why should I care? Recommendation: Work with your students the week that we train them. A schedule has been set up to train the students. HOWEVER, YOUR ROLE IS SO VERY IMPORTANT! The students really need your help. They need you to also guide them, and move them along as they present to the class. As soon as we train them, we will send out the power point presentation to you. This will give you an idea of what the student has learned. You are a vital part of the process. Some of these students have never presented in front of their peers, they really need you to help them through the presentation. Why should I care about this program? Are you worried about the bullying that happens in our schools? Are you overwhelmed with the level of crisis that we see in our building, on social media, or in person? I'll bet that EVERY TEACHER worries about their students. By integrating a program that creates leaders, nurtures future anti-bullying advocates, we hope to CHANGE THE WORLD..ONE AMBASSADOR AT A TIME.

5 What is new about the program this year?
We have adopted a character development program by the Congressional Medal of Honor Foundation. Rapcavage and I went to the training in October and we loved the program! "The program offers students the opportunity to explore core American values exemplified by true American heroes.” What are these core values that you speak of? COURAGE, INTEGRITY, SACRIFICE, COMMITMENT, CITIZENSHIP AND PATRIOTISM. We developed a calendar to study a core value each month, until the month of May. The videos are inspiring and AMAZING!! The videos were created by the foundation to have living histories of the Medal of Honor recipients.
