A biologist wants to estimate the total number of small fish in a relatively small lake. So, he asked a local fisherman to catch some fish with the aid of a net. The fisherman caught 50 and handed them over to the biologist. He tagged them all and then released back to the lake. A few days later, the fisherman was asked to catch some fish again using the net. He caught 350 in the presence of the biologist and found 35 of them had been tagged. Assuming that the fish population is evenly spread in the lake, the estimated number of fish in the lake is: 1) ) 35 3) ) 850
