Psychology Program Outcomes utcomes
Outcome 1: Demonstrate the ability to understand, use, and apply the scientific method. Outcome 2: Demonstrate mastery of the core fields, paradigms, and theories of psychology. Outcome 3: Demonstrate innovation and expertise in the skills that are representative of academic and applied psychology that will culminate in production of an undergraduate thesis project that is appropriate to the degree. Outcome 4: Demonstrate innovation and mastery of the written and oral communication skill standards of the APA that will culminate in production of a presentation of a professional undergraduate thesis. Outcome 5: Demonstrate understanding and appreciation of the ethical standards in academic and applied psychology through the integration of ethics and responsible citizenship in their collective works. Psychology BA Degree Requirements
Meet basic university outcome requirements Earn at least 120 credit hours (minimum of 30* hours at UC) Meet program-specific requirements Psychology: 4 Social Science Core Courses (Research Methods, Statistics, Computer Assisted Research, Capstone) 4 Specific Psychology Courses (Intro to Psychology, Lifespan Development, Social Psychology, History and Systems) 4 Psychology Electives (any 300+ level PSYC courses) Math & Science: Intermediate Algebra or higher (1 course) Foundational NSCI 1XX (1 course) Diversity: HUMN Diversity Electives Take 6 Comprehensive Exams (or perform well enough on graduate school entrance exams) *This is a requirement of the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) which is the accrediting body for UC.

Transfer Equivalencies
With the exception of a few courses (for example: Computer Assisted Research and Senior Capstone), we have identified course equivalencies at Argosy that will meet most program-specific requirements. Some university requirements may not have equivalencies (for example: University Transitions and certain History courses).

Academic Policies Tuition & Fees Tuition Rate: $380 per credit Comprehensive Fee: $100 per semester Degree Completion (Residency) Requirement Bachelor’s Degree – 30* credits 8 Week Term -- Summer I begins May 6 Summer II begins July 3 16 Week Term – Fall 2019 Term begins August 26 *This is an accreditation requirement of the Higher Learning Commission (HLC).

Psychology Courses – What you need to know
For Introductory Psychology (PSYC 101) and Lifespan (PSYC 212) Both of these required courses run 8 weeks. There are two 8-week sessions per semester. Upper-division Required and Elective Psychology Courses All run the entire semester and students may enroll in 1 or more per semester Students receive feedback at midterm regarding their progress in each course. Students may receive online tutoring for course content and papers through SmarThinking and assistance with APA style from faculty and UC librarians.

What is the “Residency” requirement?
Our accrediting body, Higher Learning Commission, requires that all students complete a minimum 30 hour residency requirement. “Residency” means that a student completes the minimum hour requirement at the institution. Completion may be accomplished online; the student does not have to physically be on campus.
