1 Maximizing LPSCC Capacity Grant
“Well-functioning criminal justice coordinating councils can be vitally important resources for local governments as they seek to fulfill their mandates to assure public safety and fair treatment of all, while coping with reduced budgets. The councils can provide a forum for identifying issues and, depending on their structure and role in county or city government, can be instrumental in setting priorities, allocating resources, and planning to address key systemic issues.” - Improving Criminal Justice System Planning and Operations: Challenges for Local Governments and Criminal Justice Coordinating Councils

2 Project Overview Funding: $1.875 million
Duration: October September 2019 Proposal: Fund and train professional LPSCC coordinators to be shared between groups of 2-5 counties. Coordinators will provide analytical and administrative support, facilitate county-level collaboration, and assist LPSCC membership in identifying and addressing local public safety challenges, goals and planning needs. Coordinators will be employed by the Association of Oregon Counties.
