Are attorneys familiar with the firm’s research platforms? Are they familiar with the firm’s client intake & conflict checking process? Can they get general info on the people they’ll pitch to? What info is available – Where is it? -What kind of info does it cover? Cost/billing? Knowing how long the research will take

Business Development For current clients and prospective clients attorneys should be able to find: Recent developments (news, M&A activity, etc.) Litigation history, including open cases Potential conflicts Has someone already made contact with them? What do they insource?

Industry Specific Info
Can attorneys: Set up a Google Alert for broad industry news Set up litigation and financial news alerts Search EDGAR and other platforms for basic filings (10K, 8K, etc.) Identify major industry news sources

Testing ideas Ask questions and track mouse clicks to see strategy
Have the attorney select the best source for problem Live testing with a proctor Considerations: Use true/false questions, open ended, or multiple choice? How long should the test take? Should the test be timed?
