Common Scams Scam #1 – New York Time Square Mascot Picture Scam
In New York City, different people wearing different costumes (Mickey Mouse, Iron Man, and the Statue of Liberty) will let you take pictures with them. After you take a picture, they will charge you a lot of money, even if you do not like the picture and did not want it. Scam #2 – Taxi Driver Wrong Bill In many countries, a taxi driver will say that you gave him/her the incorrect bill. They will say you gave them a smaller bill and demand that you give them the correct bill. Scam #3 – Friendship Bracelet Scam A person puts a bracelet on you quickly (a friendship bracelet) and demands money. They won’t let you hand it back. This is common in Rome and Paris.
