2. Objectives
Content Objective : Students will learn about the thoracic cage and all the bones and cartilage attached to it.
Language Objectives: Students will be able to accumulate knowledge , discuss and understand bone structure by answering questions and communicating by letting them ask questions.

3. Thoracic Cage
Includes ribs, thoracic vertebrae, the sternum and the costal cartilage that attaches the ribs to the sternum (Shier,Butler,Lewis)
Supports the pectoral girdle and upper limbs
Protects viscera
Role in breathing

4. Ribs
24 ribs
7 true rib pairs that join the sternum directly by their costal cartilage (Shier, Butler, Lewis)
The false ribs are the ones that do not reach the sternum directly and just connect to the seventh rib
There is also two ribs pairs which float because they are not connected to the sternum
The ribs curve around the chest and slopes downward j

5. Sternum
A sternum or breastbone it's located in the middle between your chest
It has three elongated bone structure;
An upper manubrium,
A middle body
A lower xiphoid.
The sternum is a process that projects downwards.
