1 Understanding Number I can count forwards up to 1000. I can count backwards going beyond 100. I can say the number after any other number up to 1000.

2 I can say the number before beyond 100.
I can repeat the decade and 1-9 sequence in the 100s. I can count on from any number in the 100s even if they cross a decade/ hundred e.g. 198, 199, 200, 201… I can count in twos, fives and tens beyond 100.

3 I can write numbers up to 100 and then within the 100s.
I can predict and name the thousands by using the 1-9 sequence. I can use the hundreds pattern to count up and down in hundreds. I can write numbers up to 100 and then within the 100s.

4 I can read numbers beyond 100 up to 1000.
I can explain that the zero in a number means no ones or tens or hundreds. I can partition three digit numbers into hundreds, tens and ones. (e.g. 26 = ) I can describe the value of each digit in a three-digit number.

5 I can order numbers within the 100s up to 1000.
I can use materials or drawings to show how many thousands, hundreds, tens or ones are in a number.

6 I can estimate an answer to a calculation by doubling or rounding.
I can round whole numbers to the nearest 10 and 100 and can use this routinely to estimate and check. I can use doubles and near doubles to build and describe numbers to 20 I can estimate the position of a number on a partially completed or empty number line
