Spring Communication and Language I will be thinking about sequence of events in stories and saying what happened in the beginning, middle and end. I will be using talk to organise, sequence and clarify thinking, ideas, feelings and events I will be talking about what I see, feel, hear, taste and think. I will be learning and naming different foods. I will be using instructions to follow a simple recipe. I will be using how and why questions. Special Events Visit from the Tiger Who Came to Tea Food Tasting Smoothie Making Tea Party Fantastic Foods Personal Social and Emotional Development I will be enjoying circle time games, taking turns and showing good behaviour Physical Development I will be learning to jump off small apparatus, throwing and catching. I will be mark making with different resources to draw shapes correctly. I will be learning to form my letters and to write my name. I will be learning about food groups and how to have a healthy diet. Books we will be looking at: Handas Surprise The Tiger that Came to Tea Handas Hen Handas Surprising Day Olivers Vegetables Olivers Fruit Salad

2 Knowledge and Understanding of the World
Mathematics I will be learning to add and subtract. I will be ordering numbers to 10 and beyond. I will be recognising number to 10 and beyond. I will be using number talk and learning how to partition numbers up to 6. I will be learning 1 more/less up to 5, I will be learning to recognise and talk about 2D/3D shapes. I will counting from a larger group, counting 1:1, and recognising numbers to 5. Literacy I am learning Phase 1/2/3 Phonics Letters and Sounds Games Reading and retelling stories. Retelling stories in own words. Create renactments of stories in forms of plays or interviewing characters asking the reasons and explanations for their actions. Look at the beginning middle and ends of stories. I will be writing: Instructions for Recipes and Tea party Invites and Shopping Lists. Knowledge and Understanding of the World Handas Surprise I will be learning about foods from different countries. I will be learning about how plants grow and change, growing cress. I will be using the Ipads at school and Technology at home to find out about Chinese New Year I will be learning about the community, grocery shops and supermarkets I will be talking about my routines and customs at home, for example tea time. Expressive Arts and Design I will be exploring how to use colour for purpose. I will be learning abut Van Gough and making still life fruit portraits. I will be fruit and veg printing. I will be learning to role play in the fruit and veg shop and the home to cook healthy meals. I will be singing and dancing to learn our healthy eating song. I will be making pictures using pulses, grains, rice and seeds.
