2 Activator: Take out your packet
Complete pg. 35: plot and connect the points and name the shape.

3 So I can learn how to... Today I will be able to….
Draw polygons in the coordinate plane given coordinates for the vertices; use coordinates to find the length of a side joining points with the same first coordinate or the same second coordinate. Apply these techniques in the context of solving mathematical problems. So I can learn how to... use absolute value to determine distance between integers (neg. or pos. #) on the coordinate plane in order to find side lengths of polygons (shapes). I will also be able to find the area enclosed by a polygon by composing or decomposing using polygons with known area formulas. I will know I got it when I can: Verbally discuss with my partners and successfully write the solutions to complete at least 4 out of the 6 stations. 6.G.A.3

I can move 8 units to the left form (5, -8) stopping at (-3, -8) Or I can move 8 units to the left form (5, 4) stopping at (-3, 4)

18 How do you feel?

19 HOMEWORK: Pages: 37 #5 and 38 #1 using page 37’s grid

20 Accommodations Read or reread presentation or activity directions, as needed or after prompting Use examples to model and act as a guide for emerging learners
