Legend of Girl´s War
3
Princess Libuše Libuše was the mystical Czech princess
The legend says that Libuše is the one who predicted the city of Prague (If you want to know more about Libuše we have also made presentation about her)
4
After the death of Libuše women began to feel that they no longer have a good social status
They decided to fight against men The women built Děvín castle and they have chosen Vlasta as their leader
5
The men first laughed at them, but after women killed nearly 300 men, they perceived women as a threat After this victory, women began to attack the groups of men they encountered.
6
When Prince Přemysl heard of it, he immediately sent the army to Děvín.
The battle ended after few minutes Vlasta died and the women surrendered
7
That was what legend says but the reality was a bit different…
In 12th century Chronicler Kosmas mentioned this conflict but he never said anything about a war. The first references about a war are from 14th century from Dalimil´s chronicle. So it is very likely, that there was no war between men and women.
