Always give his/her best effort…growth mindset Ask for help when needed. Respect her/himself and classmates. Follow WSS Code of Conduct. Students watched training on this from administrators

We have 3 class rules: Be responsible Be respectful Be ready Classroom Economy- individual ($ for rewards or SWAP day) Class Marbles- Whole Class Reward

Code of Conduct School wide expectations regarding behavior, consequences, attendance, dress code, use of electronics, health, safety, responsibilities, etc. Students are expected to follow the Code of Conduct and Cafeteria Expectations as outlined in the WSS handbook. Students had introduction to this today Please read, review with your child so there are no surprises. Sign and return last page of WSS Handbook (p. 32) Sign and return the cafeteria Expectation handout.

Parent’s Responsibilities
Materials available at home Minimal help – let your child show what has been learned… growth mindset Discuss any concerns as soon as possible with me via phone calls, notes, s, or Dojo.

Students are expected to write their homework in their agendas each day independently
Posted to website Read 15 minutes – no log – ANY READING Vocabulary – go over on a Monday, students given 2 weeks to practice skill with packet at home as well as in class. Quiz every other Friday on that skill Math- Homework and Remembering Book Occasional science/SS HW does count for a completion grade

Tests and Quizzes CELEBRATIONS!
Math Unit Tests- Follow format of state test- most will be online. 1 week notice and extra credit online – 5 points, bring in note/parent Math Quick Quizzes- 5 questions- nothing to study Vocab quizzes- based on vocab skill of 2 weeks Reading quizzes- multiple choice and written response, based on story of the week – going back into text to find evidence Social Studies- always will have notice and something to study

Water bottles & snacks DOJO- check for reminders and updates on class activities- also easy way to get in contact with me Birthday treats – half birthdays Allergy safe snack if your child has allergy Instrumental Lessons begin 9/17- student will be given schedule to follow Same day each week, time will rotate, student must catch up on things missed during lesson

ESSA and Title One We are a Title 1 School and receive additional funding New state and federal regulations guarantee that parents have the right to give input on how we use these funds Presently, funds are used for Academic Intervention and Family Literacy initiatives We invite you to join the District Advisory Council to share your thoughts.
