Overview of Crawley Clinical Commissioning Group. Services available for carers and parents including CCG initiatives and Carers Support West Sussex. Discussion on your experiences of health and care services in the local area. Close.

3 Purpose of the event To provide an overview of Crawley Clinical Commissioning Group. To inform parents and carers of children and adults on the Autism spectrum or with social communication difficulties of local services available to support them. To hear the views of parents and carers on the local health and care services in the area.

4 Overview of Crawley Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) (1)
Crawley CCG is led by doctors and health professionals and covers Crawley and the surrounding area. Made up of 12 GP practices in our area. CCG is responsible for health and wellbeing of more than 133,000 people. Part of Central Sussex and East Surrey Commissioning Alliance – joint way of working across five CCGs in Sussex and East Surrey.

5 Overview of Crawley Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) (2)
CCG is responsible for planning, buying and monitoring the quality of the majority of local NHS services: Care and treatment you may need in hospital and in the community Prescribing Mental health services Support and services for people living with learning disabilities Not responsible for commissioning primary care (GP practices, dentists and opticians).

6 Overview of Crawley Clinical Commissioning Group (3)
We want to ensure that patients are at the heart of all that we do. We engage with patients and members of the public through: GP Surgery’s Patient Participation Groups – patients have a say on services at their local GP practice. Commissioning Patient Reference Group – a forum at which patient representatives meet to discuss local health services and CCG’s work. Health Network - enables Crawley CCG patients and the public together to get a better understanding of how to shape local health services. Patient Roundup - monthly newsletter sent out by the CCG. Twitter and Facebook Surveys or events. Governing Body or Primary Care Commissioning Committee Public meetings.

Improved Access – every patient registered with a GP in Crawley can now access evening and weekend GP appointments. Free flu vaccine for carers. Time to Talk – friendly and approachable services offering talking therapies. Pathfinders – single point of access to mental health and wellbeing support.

9 Local Services Available (2)
Sussex Mental Health Healthline ( ) - telephone service offering support and information to anyone experiencing mental health problems. Available 24/7. MindOut – works to improve the mental health and wellbeing of LGBTQ communities. Youth Emotional Support – free service for young people aged 11-18

11 Discussion on your experiences of health and care services in the area
What are your experiences of accessing GP surgeries, pharmacies, hospitals and walk-in centres in the local area (as a service user, carer or parent)? When improving inpatient facilities and the quality of care, what would be important to you and what would be your concerns? What are your experiences of using CAHMS?

12 Discussion on your experiences of health and care services in the area
What is more important to you when choosing where to go for your care and do you have enough information to make an informed decision? How do you feel about alternative approaches to face-to-face care such as telephone advice and support including , online or Skype (as a service user, carer or parent)? What would you need to make this work for you as a patient? What could be done to raise awareness of ‘hidden disabilities’ in health services?
