1 Opportunistic Osteoporosis Screening at Routine Abdominal and Thoracic CT: Normative L1 Trabecular Attenuation Values in More than Adults Routine CT can identify adults with low bone mineral density who are at risk for osteoporosis. Population-based age-related bone density loss measured by L1 trabecular attenuation at CT is fairly constant and predictable, averaging 2.5 HU per year. Beyond menopause, women and men have similar mean L1 trabecular attenuation values. Normative reference values for trabecular L1 attenuation values for opportunistic osteoporosis screening.
