2 The AUN Library Sept – 2006 (automated library) mostly paper collections with OPAC, web-based catalog that allows users search print & electronic (e) resource. Aug 2006 – 2011 (hybrid library) paper & E resources provided side-by-side. 90% e version but print use emphasized. Jan – 2013 (e or virtual library) with 99.9% e and shift of emphasis from print to e. Sept 2013 – (smart library) moving mobile/green. Use of handheld devices to access resources. In 2014 adopted an e-priority Policy Aim: Library-in-my-pocket

3 Why E is the choice for research
Book scarcity, locally; overseas delays in shipment Cost effectiveness: the product, space economy, maintenance, durability, safety. Access: Concurrent, simultaneous access Currency: instant delivery due to virtual distribution. Research friendliness: flexible fonts, ing, citation, variety, compatibility with e reading devices. Some publications are no longer available in paper form.

Data bases added for Graduate studies in the Academic Year: Science Direct: Business, Economics, Econometrics & Finance Emerald: Business, Accounting, Finance, economics & Marketing. MarketLine: Business Information. Journal Citation Reports: Evaluates world leading journal. IEEE; Journal of Research/Development (Communications Library is being considered) Financial Times: leading international newspaper Research4Life (HINARI, AGORA, OARE, ARDI) Supplement: Open Access Resources, ILL/ Consortia partners Total articles provided through ILL: July 2016 – July
