EF-G is dark blue. (A) The arrowhead in indicates intersubunit bridge B2a formed by the contact between H69 and h44. (B) Binding of EF-G induces an interdomain movement in RRF that positions domain II of RRF closer to bridge B2a. (C) Subsequent structural rearrangements, which may be triggered by release of inorganic phosphate after GTP hydrolysis catalyzed by EF-G, result in further rotation of RRF domain to toward the tip of H69 and the dissociation of the 30S subunit, depicted as the separation of H69 and h44.
