37 Strong elevated inversions along with negative upper air humidity gradients led to elevated trapping layers. Trapping layers lower at night. More trapping layers in Monterey Bay as opposed to open ocean. Very low OVC for majority of 21 July, lower SST’s, and lower trapping layers. Close to San Francisco encounter very low, weak trapping layer (possible upwelling). Need to evaluate sonde data against model data.
