The Fireside Chats From March 1933 to June 1944, Roosevelt addressed the American people in some 30 speeches broadcast via radio He spoke on a variety of topics from banking to unemployment to fighting fascism in Europe. Millions of people found comfort and renewed confidence in these speeches, which became known as the “fireside chats.”

Assignment You and a partner are to each listen to a fireside chat by Franklin Roosevelt. Please follow the link to the correct page. Use headphones if necessary. Answer the questions related to your fireside chat in your notes. Please explain your answers to your partner. While you are working, I will be speaking with you regarding your placement for next year. When you are finished and have exchanged notes, please work on your study guide for Thursday’s quiz.
