Overview Let’s start with the basics! A full schedule at MSHS is 7.0 credits. Yearlong courses are worth 1.0 credit and semester courses are worth 0.5 credit. If you register for 7 periods a day, you should have 7 credits. If you register for zero period, you should have 8.0 credits upon completion.

Now, let’s look at the form. Please fill out the top portion clearly.

English Step 1: You will be enrolled in English. You will need to choose between regular LA 10 or LA 10 Honors.

Math Step 2: Refer to your current math teacher’s recommendation for help in choosing your next math course.

Social studies Step 3: You will need to enroll in a Social Studies course. You will choose between World History, AP (Advanced Placement) World History, and CHS (College in the High School) World History.

electives Step 5: You have some flexibility in the selection of your elective courses to fill your remaining 3 credits. We suggest you carefully read the descriptions in the course catalog when making these selections. Some elective classes are yearlong (1.0 credit) and others are semester-long (0.5 credit). You should have 7 total credits for the year, including your pre-selected classes and elective choices.

alternates Step 5: You will select 6 alternate elective classes. Students are not always able to get into their first choice classes, and we may need to refer to your alternates. Please make these selections thoughtfully!

Graduation requirements
You can review the classes you have already taken to fulfill graduation requirements, as well as your remaining requirements, in the ‘Grad Requirements’ tab in Skyward (Family/Student Access)

Closes: March 17th at 8:00pm For more information on how to register in Skyward, review the registration videos available on the counseling website. If you have questions about future courses, your current teachers are a great resource. If you don’t have access to a teacher that teaches in that department, the counseling office can connect you.
