The implementation of the eWISA Water Care Assistant Flip Human Water Care Works Elize Marè

During April/May 2007 the eWISA WCA Assistant was implemented at the Flip Human Water Care Works in Mogale City. Flip Human Water Care Works During this period specific attention was given to certain aspects, which were considered as essential for the management and operation of the works.

Background The eWISA Water Care Assistant was developed as a state-of art TOOL to contribute to the operation and management of water and waste water works in South Africa. The system was developed within a partnership agreement between WISA and WAMTechnology cc. Special acknowledgement to Elize Mar è and Johan Esterhuizen of Mogale City who provided the valuable detailed requirements of a local authority.

The main sections of the Water Care Assistant are: General: Contacts, staff, documention, photos, manufacturers and suppliers, classification of works, etc. Water quality and plant performance: Monitoring points, water quality and flow data, graphical procedures and statistics to MANAGE the performance of the plant and the quality of water/effluent. Asset management: Inventories, replacement costs, life span of equipment, maintenance schedules, reporting, etc.. Financial management: Budgeting and management Inspections and incidents:

Water quality data. Monitoring data since 2003 were imported into the system. The graphical output of the data were reviewed in consultation with WISA for optimum assistance for the management of the works. Graphical display of three time series for constituents (statistical output and smoothing tool for selected monitoring points).
