FIGURE 1 Analytic framework for systematic reviews on types and amounts of CFBs consumed and growth, size, and body composition. This framework shows the overall scope of the project, including the population, the interventions and/or exposures, comparators, and outcomes of interest. It also includes definitions of key terms and identifies key confounders considered in the systematic review on types and amounts of CFBs consumed and growth, size, and body composition. The independent variable/exposure of interest included types and/or amounts of CFBs, which encompassed dietary patterns during the complementary feeding period and the introduction of specific CFBs. The outcomes of interest included weight, height/length, body circumferences, and/or proxies for body composition such as fat mass or fat mass index, weight-to-height ratios including BMI, and terms for weight status such as incidence, prevalence, frequency, or risk of malnutrition, healthy weight, overweight, or obesity.
