2 sharpened pencils 2 blue or black pens A functioning calculator Don’t Bring A pager or cell phone A hat or any other distracting items

2 Exam Setup Part A and B-1 are multiple choice questions.
Part B-2 is a constructed response section usually with emphasis on charts and diagrams Part C is an extended response section that usually includes a reading passage with questions.

3 Part A, B-1 Multiple-choice section
Tips for answering multiple choice question: Take your time and read the entire question and all the choices. Check your reference tables to see if there is any information that helps. Try to get rid of unlikely answers. Go through all choices a second time to choose the best one.

4 Tips for answering constructed
Part B-2, C Constructed Response Tips for answering constructed response questions: Graphs and diagrams should be done in pencil. If there is a reading passage, read the whole passage first and then re-read it after you look at the questions. Read and follow every direction given!!!

5 Regents Exam Strategy:
Don’t rush through the exam just to “get it done”. An extra few minutes may save you a whole lot of time later. Skip and come back to problems you can’t answer easily. Sometimes another question will contain information to other questions. Be sure to leave no blanks. One blank answer could spell disaster!!!

6 At the Close of the Exam Make sure all answers are in ink except graphs and diagrams. If you have machine scored Part A, B-1 that can be in pencil. Make sure you leave no blank answers. Make sure you sign the declaration at the bottom of the Part A, B-1 answer sheet.
