The seven strategies show us how and why to let go. Strategies 4 and 7 are the why—this is our destination; what we want our classroom to look and sound like. 1,2, and 3 are the foundation of how. Without them, students are not able to fully understand what it is they are supposed to know and be able to do. They can never get to 4 and 7! Five and six are enablers—they are also part of the how, but they can’t happen without the foundation pieces either.
