1 Mr. Easton’s Fitness News
(708) February 1st , 2018 Welcome! Gymnastics / Tumbling Jump Rope This unit will include practicing the techniques of jumping rope. This is a very hard skill to learn for movers this age and will be practiced at the most basic level before advancing to the most advanced techniques that we know as jumping rope. The students will be able to be able to choose their level of difficulty in this unit. This unit will include practicing the techniques of balancing, somersaults, cartwheels, log rolls, bridges, head stands, and many more very exciting gymnastics and tumbling activities to challenge all age and ability levels. Valentines Day is coming very close and February is already here! We still need to please make sure all of our students bring a change of gym shoes for gym so they can participate and avoid injury! Safety is our main priority. The students will continue to participate in sports that are geared for indoors such as gymnastics/tumbling and jump rope. Jump Rope For Heart fundraising will end the week of February 16th as well! Last year was very successful and we raised $3255! We already have over $2,500 and can keep raising more to reach our school goal over the final weeks. I hope we can continue the trends and support this amazing cause and our students! Let’s keep up all the great work and motivation our students have started the year off with to keep moving towards spring! ATHLETE SPOTLIGHT The athlete of the month for February is Super Bowl 52 where the Philadelphia Eagles will face the New England Patriots. The Eagles are the underdogs giving them plenty of fanbase going in to the game, but the Patriots already have so many fans on their side from past super bowl victories. Choose what side you will be on and cheer for them on February 4th! “Gold medals aren't really made of gold. They're made of sweat, determination, and a hard-to-find alloy called guts.” – Dan Gable
