CanSat “A CanSat contains all the major subsystems of a real satellite, such as power and communications. The only difference is that it will not go into orbit. It will be launched on a drone or a rocket that will travel up to an altitude of 400m — 1 km, deploy its parachute, and land safely. The CanSats must perform a primary mission, which consists of transmitting data of temperature and pressure measurements, and a secondary mission, which is up to your imagination.” Take part in the Nordic CanSat competition: Autumn, plan and build January: submit written technical proposal End of March: submit Final Design Report Week in April: Nordic competition, Andoya Space Center, Norway (4 people) CAS project: 4-6 people (could be more) Team leader, hardware department, software department, outreach department Regular meetings throughout the year, documented in ManageBac

Graphs and line of best fit:
Mark all data points clearly Include quantity and unit on axes Use error bars when possible NEVER play ”connect the dots”. Add a tredline (straight or curved), show the equation If we get a straight line we often want to know the slope and the intercept (crossing the y-axis) Draw a graph and find the line of best fit: Time (a) Mass (kg) Error (kg) 5 35 10 53 15 74
