Counting the emotions Paul Ekman says there are seven basic emotions: anger, disgust, fear, happiness, sadness, contempt, and surprise. Robert Plutchik says there are eight basic emotions: acceptance, fear, surprise, sadness, disgust, anger, anticipation, and joy. Emotion wheel

Emotions Influencing Personality
Learned Helplessness: passive resignation after repeated failure or punishment. Type A Personality: stress related responses to life. Type B Personality: relaxed approach to life.
