1 Journal Write If you had to explain to someone how Dante’s version of hell is structured, how would you explain it? You are explaining it to someone who has never read The Inferno. Some things that can help you: What does it look like? How many circles are there? How does each circle work? How are sinners sentenced in hell? Who ferries the souls across the river?

2 Summary of Cantos In your journals, work in your table groups to come up with a summary for the following: Canto 1 Canto 3 Canto 5 Canto 34 DO NOT divide and conquer. It is better to go through each Canto together to summarize.

3 Major Characters Quiz your neighbor on what they know about the following characters: Dante Minos Dis Francesca & Paolo Charon Virgil The lion, the leopard, & the she-wolf Judas, Brutus, & Cassius Helen of Troy, Achilles, Cleopatra

4 Sins Vocab Turn to the page in your journal where you wrote your sins vocabulary. Find a partner and quiz them on the terms. Don’t forget about other key terms, such as: Anti-hero Allegory Simile Metaphor Allusion
