Narrative voice (e.g. direct address through second person or omniscient third person)
Changes in time, setting or character
Movement through time and space (e.g. journey)
Wide angle view then zooming in on key event or character
Events and the order in which they occur
The opening paragraph
How new ideas/events/characters etc. are introduced
The last paragraph of the extract – e.g. link back to the first, cliff-hanger, unexpected events
All of these must be supported with quotations from the text AND linked to the question:
