Morse Code Introduction
2
It’s All Timing Basic time unit = Dit. Dah is 3 units long.
Space between bits (dits and dahs) is 1 (one) unit long. Space between letters is 3 units long. Space between words is 7 units long.
3
Become an Auditory Learner
ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS think of the sounds dit and dah. NEVER, NEVER, NEVER visualize dots and dashes (this is the last time … RIGHT?). NEVER!!!!!!
4
Learning Method Send characters at faster speed but leave longer spacing between letters to slow down the overall speed. Your mind is pretty fast and you have a tendency to fill in the “long” pauses between bits with something. Prepares you for higher speed copy, just shorten the long pauses between characters.

Anticipation Conversations are predictable – use context
What letter probably follows YO What letter probably follows Q Fill in the following missing letters: I lo_e t_ sin_ an_ da_ce. I _ive in Det____, Michig__. ANTICIPATION helps speed, and speed increases enjoyment of code.
