3 Try this… create an expression for: Ian scored 4 fewer goals than Julia. Use j to represent Julia’s number of goals.

So that I can learn how to accurately describe variables and create an expression (addition or subtraction) to determine an unknown value after analyzing information from a story problem. 13 Why is it important to describe the variable in an expression?
The biggest reason to define the variable is to know what the expression represents. If something is measured, include units. If something is counted, include that it is a number of items.
