9 Principles Used in Setting Rates
Increased rates will add to resources to renovate old (tired) housing and to create new housing, bringing more students out of the neighborhoods. Financial aid will be adjusted to account for cost of campus housing. Our policies and rates should not contribute to stratification. All first-year students will be charged the same rate no matter where they live. Premiums are charged for singles, apartment-style housing, and kitchens. Rates in apartment-style housing will be comparable to off-campus market rates (including utilities, cable, wi-fi). Students with disabilities that require a single will not be charged the premium for a single. The new rate structure is going into effect this fall, but was announced last year so that students/families could prepare.

10 Premiums $8220 base rate ________
$600 per year for housing with kitchens $951 for singles $209 for apartment-style housing $239 for CoHo and SoGo Range: $8220-$10,219 ($913-$1135 per month) Off-Campus Rates: $800-$900 per month + utilities (off campus residence generally requires year-long leases, first- and last-month payments, and occasionally broker fees)
