2. A Two firefighters place the cover on the ground next to the item needing protection. The salvage cover is unfolded out of the accordion fold so that the cover is across the base of the item at its full length.

3. B The firefighters grab the top inside edge of the cover and pick it up to about waist height. Both firefighters simultaneously move the cover’s edge in
an upward motion so that it catches air, and they then move to the other side of the item while the cover is still in the air.

under to keep water from pooling and to lessen the chance for the edges of the cover to be disturbed by accident.
