Figure 1 This is a LOESS plot comparing intact vs. leaking implants by size and duration of implantation. The 95% confidence bands overlap until 1680 days (4.6 years), which shows that more of the implants that were explanted within 1680 days and that had leaks were of a larger size. Figure 2 Kaplan-Meier survival plots of the cohort split into two groups, implants <300-ml. and implants ≥300 ml. The white area between the 95% confidence bands from days 2400–4100 suggests that larger implants were more problematic for a similar time period as Figure 1. This effected the median survival p = 0.001.
