2. EMMA 07/3/1: Synthesis Report
This is a draft report, including the 3 Annexes
EMMA can comment until 8 June 2007 (factual changes and improving on workshop outcomes)
EEA will then produce a Final Report around July 2007, including final workshop 3 outputs. It will also clarify:
Terminology/definitions (e.g. indicators)
Showing how priorities for further exploring commonalities via ”detailed technical analysis” fit with EMMA 2004 criteria
Ensuring that ”detailed technical comparison” includes evaluation of how existing indicators etc. are relevant to off-shore marine waters and clarify the precise purpose

3. EMMA 07/3/2: Indicator related recommendations
Amendments to recommendations 2, 5, 7, 13, 14, 15, 16, and 19 will be undertaken as suggested by EMMA
Amended document to be annexed to EMMA meeting report
General agreement for carrying out a ”detailed technical comparison” (DTC) of regional indicator etc. commonalities for the issues highlighted in recommendation 1
Priorities for DTC (recommendation 2) agreed: End 2007 – 2008 for priority 1 and afterwards for priority 2
Work towards gap filling to take place after 2008
DTC to be carried out by EEA / ETC with relevant contacts including EMMA Core Group any others are welcome

4. Suggested timetable for DTC (1/2)
Before end 2007: Revising existing template for the “detailed technical comparison” to better adapt it to the ‘needs’ of the process;
Before end 2007: Drafting of a questionnaire on the basis of the information held by the EEA;
Before end 2007: Discussing and revising the questionnaire with relevant contact persons,
January 2008: Submitting the questionnaire to relevant contact persons;
March 2008: Compiling the answers into an analysis (short report), including tables with regional entries following the “detailed technical comparison” template;
May/June 2008: Discussing the report in a meeting with group of relevant contacts;
Autumn 2008: Presenting the report to the EMMA Plenary meeting 2008.
