It can be argued that Martin Luther King was not as important as people have said Evidence Other leaders of the Civil Rights movement such as Malcolm X also played a big role in campaigning for Civil Rights Explain Malcolm X was another important figure in the campaign and he was also prepared to risk his life to achieve better lives for black Americans Link Martin Luther King was the highest profile person in the Civil Rights campaign but other like Malcolm X also played an important part which would support the idea that Martin Luther king was not as important as he is often said to be.
