1 HCS Summer Reading Edith K. Pickens March 7, 2013

2 HCS Summer Reading The purpose of summer reading is to encourage
students to practice reading skills and to develop an enjoyment for reading contemporary novels. We want to encourage all HCS stakeholders to become involved in the summer reading. The plan for summer reading was developed by two committees representing high schools and middle schools. These committees have been at work on the summer reading project for 12 months.

All community members are invited to preview the novels and vote for one novel for high school and one novel for middle school.

novel will be announced on April 18. Students will be provided a list of options for the required assignment that will accompany summer reading at the end of the school year.
