1. If on a desktop or laptop:
Open Google Chrome to

2. If on a smartphone or tablet:
Open Google Chrome to the same site as for the desktop ( The site will recognize that you are on a smartphone and prompt you to load the smartphone version. Click OK 2. You will be redirected to the appropriate portal (the Lite version) for smartphones. If prompted, “allow” NatureAtlas to track your location b/c that is how this works.

3. Adding an App Icon for NatureAtlas Lite
to your Smartphone’s Home Screen 1. If not already, open NatureAtlas in Chrome (preferably). 1. Open Web App 2. Choose “Add to Home Screen” from the browser Menu. 3. The NatureAtlas shortcut icon is automatically selected. 4. Select and drag the icon to the position you wanted it.

4. Register and then login
You must login in order to be able to manage and edit any records that you enter.

5. Adding new organism records on the Desktop Version:
Zoom & drag map, then click the map to open an entry box for that location. Green fields are required at entry. Other fields and photos, if required by your instructor, can be added later if desired using the record’s edit function.

5. Adding new organism records on the Smartphone (Lite) Version
1. Push the “minus” button to minimize the search pane. 2. Tap the “My Current Location” button to find your current location. 3. Tap to enter a new plant record at the precise location you find it. 4. Check “Add photo” if you have a photo or wish to take one. Additional data and photo may be added later using the edit function from either the desktop or Lite versions.
