Importance Of Truth It “purifies the soul” (v. 22)
People today are greatly concerned about clean water, air, food, etc. What about clean hearts, pure minds? Sin defiles (Titus 1:15) The word of Jesus brings cleansing (Jn. 15:3). Instrumental in being “born again” (v. 23) Question: “Are you a born again Christian?” Is there another kind? See what Jesus taught on this (Jn. 3:1-10)

Incentives To Obey The Truth
“Flesh is as grass” (v. 24) Our lives are short (James 4:14) Each day we draw closer to eternity (2 Cor. 4:16) Glory of man is fleeting (v. 24) Too much glory in self soon fades (Lk. 18:9; 2 Cor. 10:12) Glory with God never fails, never fades (Col. 1:27; 1 Peter 5:4)
