By Jennifer Duncan
2
Get a Closing Shot This is the shot that will stick in viewers’ minds!
Constantly be on the look out for the perfect shot that will best wrap up your video
3
Get an Establishing Shot
Sets the scene in one image Wide shots work well to help set the scene experiment with unusual angles This will grab the viewers’ attention
4
Shoot Plenty of Video Shoot more raw footage than you will put in your final video This allows you to have more options when editing, and prevents you from missing any essential shots
5
Adhere to the Rule of Thirds
Imagine the frame being filled with two vertical and two horizontal intersecting lines Your subject or focal point of the shot, should lie on those intersecting lines Avoid placing your subject in the very center to create a more interesting shot
6
Keep your Shots Steady Give viewers the sense that they are watching through a window, or the feeling that they are part of the scene Shaky camera movements can ruin this feeling Always use a Tripod when possible while filming
