Framework for ensuring quality for statistical processes/outputs
Each Eurostat statistical process is evaluated
Identify information already available on quality at the different stages of the process
Use a standard checklist to help identify improvements and good practices
Agree, schedule and, later, review improvements

4. Four types of quality assessment
Self-assessment – smaller processes, experienced teams
Supported self-assessment – supported by quality unit
Rolling review – combination of similar processes; expert, user and data provider input, supported by quality unit
Peer review – single process, large scale, expert input

5. Peer review assessment
Select a Peer Reviewer (experience, objectivity, new ideas)
Production unit prepares available documentation, including detailed checklist about all stages of the process
First Peer Review meeting – discuss, clarify, explore improvements
Quality unit drafts improvement actions and final report
Second Peer Review meeting – Head of Unit confirms the improvement actions to be carried out and the deadlines
