2 Boycott When people boycott, they refuse to buy or use a product to make a point. The Sons of Liberty told people to boycott British goods.

3 Colony A place ruled by people in another country is a colony. Massachusetts was one of the original 13 colonies rules by Great Britain.

4 Colonist Colonists are people who live in a colony. The colonists in Boston complained about British rule.

5 Diligence Working hard for a long time shows diligence. Paul Revere learned that making objects from gold and silver took skill and diligence.

6 Harbor A sheltered place along a coast where ships can safely anchor or dock is a harbor. To protest against the tea tax, colonists dumped tea into the Boston Harbor.

7 Independence When you are free to make your own choices you have independence. When the American Revolutionary war ended in 1783, the thirteen colonies gained independence.

8 liberty Freedom from control by another is liberty
liberty Freedom from control by another is liberty. The Sons of Liberty believed that the colonies should be free from British rule.

Silversmith A person who makes objects out of silver is a silversmith. Paul Revere was a silversmith like his father.
